CHARTERED PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANT
(CPA, CMA)

I completed my CPA designation in 2014, through the CMA Strategic Leadership Program, following the completion of my Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Management from MacEwan University in 2009.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Thus far in my career, I have worked in Civil, Industrial & Commercial Construction, Mining, Marketing, Auto Sales, Entertainment, and Aviation Leasing, Maintenance & Part Sales (Warehousing) for SME's and up to multinational public conglomerates.

I have also been part owner & CFO of multiple small businesses in the Entertainment & Consulting industry since 2013.

There are not many accounting processes & styles that I have not come across, in one form or another.

ERP EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Sage (50, 100C), Quickbooks (QBD, QBO), Xero, Explorer, Viewpoint, Quantum, Procore, JD Edwards & many purpose-built plug-in apps.

Because of my significant ERP experience, I am generally able to pick up on any new systems with ease.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

- Assisted in growing Net Income Before Tax by 3% to 5%+ annually.
- Uncovered numerous cost recoveries through reconciliations & reviews.
- Turned around 2+ years of accounting records cleanup in 2-month window for multiple companies to deliver FYE ahead of schedule.

- Reconciled multi-million dollar flow-through balance sheet accounts from 50% down to 3% variance.
- Re-designed numerous internal processes for multiple companies to provide better accuracy of reporting to ownership.
- Implemented new accruals processes and additional checks and balances in month end processes to ensure fraud risk reduction and accuracy of books, as well as mitigating previously experienced swings in financial records.

- Streamlined Month End & Year End Close processes to reduce time required by 80%+.

- Completed several CRA inquiries & audits regarding records submitted prior to my tenure.
- Managed financial processes for multiple subsidies through COVID-19 Pandemic, rolled numerous processes digital to facilitate temporary work-from-home structure for office staff, and managed subsidy applications for multiple companies in different industries.
- First time teaching Accounting at SAIT resulted in in-class sessions shutting down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, though did successfully deliver the remainder of the class online to complete the semester. Have since returned to teach part-time when in-class sessions resumed.
